1. What data we collect
Account data
When you create an account, we collect your email address and your institution name. This data is used for authentication and to scope your account to your institution.
Uploaded data
You upload enrollment export files containing section-level aggregate data such as section identifiers, enrollment capacity, enrolled count, waitlist count, department, course name, and optionally room capacity. This data is used solely to provide analysis and recommendations.
Usage data
We collect standard usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the Service. This data is not tied to individual students or enrollment records.
2. What we do not collect
Seatoir does not collect, store, or process:
- Student names or student ID numbers
- Grades or academic performance records
- Student contact information
- Financial aid or billing data
- Any data classified as education records under FERPA (see our FERPA page)
3. How we use your data
We use collected data to:
- Provide the Service, including enrollment analysis and recommendations
- Authenticate users and maintain account security
- Improve the Service based on usage patterns
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share your data with data brokers.
4. Data sharing
We share data only with infrastructure providers necessary to operate the Service, including cloud hosting, database, and email delivery providers. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually bound to use it only for providing their services. We do not share data with advertising networks, data brokers, or analytics platforms that resell data.
5. Data retention
Uploaded data and account data are retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account termination, all uploaded data and account data are deleted within thirty (30) days. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting support@seatoir.com.
6. Security
We protect your data with encryption in transit and at rest, tenant isolation, and access controls. For full details on our security practices, see our Security page.
7. Cookies
Seatoir uses session cookies for authentication. These are necessary for the Service to function. We do not use third-party tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or cross-site tracking technologies.
8. Your rights
As an institution using Seatoir, you may:
- Request an export of your uploaded data at any time
- Request deletion of your data at any time
- Request information about what data we hold for your institution

9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page and notify you by email or through the Service.
